This is another cartoon created by Dr. Seuss talking about US savings bonds and how it was important for people to buy them throughout the war.
Walt Disney
Believe it or not, Walt Disney created cartoons to change the way people saw our enemy leaders on in particular being Adolf Hitler. The cartoons were meant to boost moral for why America was at war, but also to show emotion and sympathy for the women and children who were living in fear against the Nazi Regime. One of Walt Disney’s most popular cartoon was called “Der Fuehrer's Face.” This cartoon used the character Donald Duck and he dreams he is a German worker and it shows how Hitler has taken away everything good from the people and at the end he awakes from his dream and is thankful that he is a citizen of the United States. Walt Disney was also called upon to create propaganda production films and created a series of animations created by Colonel Frank Capra for the US Army. The films were originally only supposed to be for servicemen but instead the productions made it to theaters because of their popularity (C. Cabrera). They believed that by making cartoons into productions it would ease up on the stress of the war and be humorous for viewers. Below is a short video of "Der Fuehrer's Face" and gives an example of anti nazi propaganda.
Before Dr. Seuss was famous for creating children’s books he created over 400 editorial cartoons during the 1940’s. He created these cartoons to ridicule the Nazi’s and Japanese and he also wanted to unite America to support the war effort. He hoped that his cartoons would send messages to the people and for them to put their beliefs side and come together for the good of the country. These cartoons were used to persuade Americans to support the war effort and to demonstrate hatred toward their enemies. Dr. Seuss had many different categories of cartoons such as war effort, propaganda, recruitment, united nations, etc. (C. Cabrera). Many of Dr. Seuss's cartoons went unknown for many years and have been put into a library for people to see what was never shown.

“Der Fuehrer's Face" was created to show the rationing, work effort, and home front effort that was going on during the war. This whole video is a nightmare and when he awakes he sees a small statue of liberty and he is thankful to be an American citizen. Walt Disney created these videos as entertainment for people during this time as well as to show the people what was actually going on and how the lives of people in Germany were being dictated and they should be proud to be a part of this country.
This video was created by Walt Disney to warn citizens of the Nazi's and to prepapre the United States for the upcoming war that would become.
